We Arrived In DC!
We've finally made it: five years of freezing at Cookie Booths, selling fall products, garage sales, and car washes (that went bust) has finally paid off, and we are in Washington DC for the next several days. Later on this week (tomorrow? two days from now? no one knows...) we'll get some pictures up and the blog will become even fancier. Everyone's tired right now, and we don't particularly want to try and figure all this technology yet.
Our nicknames are: The Padawan (Megan R.), Citrus (Taylor L.), W!erd0 (Julia R.), and Scholar (Samantha S.). Our troop leaders are: Raccoon-Killer (Deanna S.), and Doll (Barbie R.).
Here are accounts of our day:
Padawan: Hi friends, its me Padawan! So the first day was eventful... eight hours in the car starting at 5:00 in the morning. Then get the stuff to the rooms. lastly going on the metro to dinner. My first time on a train and I had fun can't wait for the next ride. Now we are in the main room and blogging. lots of new and old jokes are always around..... luv ya
LOVE PADAWAN ~<3
W!erd0: Yo! W!erd0 here! Honestly, that was an okay road trip and D.C is actually very nice. It isn't all that crowded and not many smokers are around. Sadly, there were a lot of homeless people, over thirteen in one spot. The hotel is nice, not one of the best i have seen in pictures, but still really nice. I nearly got scared to death by Scholar. I screamed. I also surfed on the Metro (Not as nice as Georgia's Marta). Cookies are good, thought that I was gonna be sick of them after five years, but I cant say no to chocolate. Homeless people are scary, and cute Asian boys ride the Metro (wearing pink shirts and a scarf). That's all for now~
Haha,
W!erd0
Citrus: okay, first of all i didn't really decide this name. it was thrust upon me by the mystical beings of lets make Taylor's life a non stop event of bad word choices town. Anyhow DC is a pretty chill place, way smaller than i personally thought but still nice. iv'e always wanted to live in a city so if i get to for almost a week that's real nice. unfortunately i wasn't able to ride with my friend to this fabulous city but that doesn't mean it wasn't a nice ride... it was beautiful don't get me wrong but no living person should ever have to sit in the back of your mothers car for 11 strait on hours and NOT get ONE single PIT- STOP no matter how much you want to. but family is family and you have to enjoy that. so when i met with my friends at the metro i was beyond exited.... and then i hear the word i must every time i meet up with them. that cursed word! GAH IT WAS ONE TIME!!! ONE TIME! and yet no matter how many years pass, or how many days pass, it is still the same. CITRUS. PLEASE don't get me wrong though, i do love the name just as much as i love them. and i'm happy that memory is of me making everyone laugh. haha but yes on with the story, after we met up, and had exchanged our war stories of the ride there, i had a lovely time eating the best Asian food 10.50 can buy and spent a luxurious time mourning over the fact that i could not buy two cd's and could only a afford one. oh yes twas a tragic time. then we got on to the Marta which , might i add, was my first time. and on that miraculous ride i was asked by our very own raccoon killer to sit next to a fine young man... being timid i refused. and at the end of the day it was a well spent journey. much fun yes.
Scholar: Woke up too early to get travelling. Most of the car ride was spent sleeping (though I'm still super tired), but we also played some games (like Loaded Questions), reading, and I worked on the Girl Scout Bliss Journey (so I can get my Gold Award). Once at the hotel, we took all our luggage in, sat around for a bit, before heading to the Metro. They really need to label which directions the trains go in - we went in the opposite direction of Union Station, and ended up being stuck on the trains for 40 minutes to an hour longer. It was frustrating, but not crowded. Union Station was pretty fancy (architecture-wise, not food-wise), and I ate with the other girls at Sakura Japan (?). We headed back to the hotel, where we goofed around and wrote this. All in all, a pretty good start to our week.
Raccoon Killer- (Because I once hit a raccoon while driving the troop to Misty Mountain to camp for the weekend years ago.) Any way, we had a good drive up to Washington D.C. I-85 was not busy like I thought it would be. When we got to union Station, we met up with Citrus and since we were starving, got something to eat. My friend Patty (who used to work with me at Kid Central) moved to Baltimore last year. Patty met us at Union Station for supper tonight. We ate at Uno Pizzeria & Grill. We went outside the Union Station to get Citrus' luggage from her mom. The outside of Union Station is very interesting. It has a lot of interesting architectural details.Wished we had seen it in the light of day and could have taken pictures. Maybe later in the week.
Doll- Went to bed early. Too tired to write.-(RK)
